For the week of October 5th – 9th, 2020, Miller Management is participating in the Accounts Payable Recognition Week. We are truly thankful for each of our Client Services Representatives and all the support and detailed work they provide our clients!

We also celebrated our Payroll and Accountant teams.

From the Desk of the CSR Department:

A few things we try to instill in all of our Accounting clients is the necessity to collect W-9s from all new contractors. Prior to work being done. No matter how small the job. And while we are on the topic, it’s a great idea to have any backup documentation attached to check requests. No documentation? No approval for money. It should be that simple. Plus, that serves as an added bonus of providing anti-fraud measurers in your company.

For MM clients, we also have them separate out by type the different transactions. A section for bank transactions, one for Electronic Funds Transfers {EFTs}, and one for check requests, etc. This way we can help avoid double paying a vendor. And when the paperwork is in alphabetical order, it also provides easier filing on the backend. Bonus!

Another important task our team helps our clients with is the training of multiple check signers, and who should be on that list. We also provide training in regards to counting contributions; if that is something your ministry handles. The benefits of proper handling and stewarding these funds are essential for daily operations, but they also provide another layer of anti-fraud measures.

“When you have a quality accounts payable team serving an organization they provide consistency, accuracy, and efficiency to your financial statements and payments.  Everything from correct vendor addresses that keep payments going to the intended recipient, consistent invoice numbers that prevent duplicate payments, keeping you in compliance with IRS regulations with 1099s, and confirming that the account coding provided was really what you intended are just a few of the important processes your Client Services Representative provides while processing your accounts payable.  We are so appreciative of the way they humbly serve our organizations!”

– Jennifer Ross, VP of Operations/Chief of Staff
