How to Appreciate Your People

Showing appreciation to your people can be an easy way to say thank you. It doesn’t have to cost a lot, or you can go all out. What it says about your organization and what is does for your staff are the biggest reasons why you would go through all the trouble.

Creating a culture and environment of appreciation and thankfulness make for a nice place to work, no matter your level of responsibility.

Employee Appreciation Day - March 4 2022 - Appreciate Your People

Don’t forget: March 4th, 2022 is National Employee Appreciation Day! You’re welcome. 🙂 #appreciateyourpeople

Past MM Appreciate Our People Examples:

At Miller Management we are all about using food as a reward, celebration commodity, or just a Tuesday. We frequently have lunch events to encourage participation; or fun treats and snacks during our busy season.

2020 Staff Appreciation

Another way to inspire healthy competition and help with a fun culture – which is a great way to appreciate your people – is to host fun events with prizes. Whether that be a fun dress up week or see who can decorate the craziest pumpkin. Or throw the best paper airplane. Yes, we know from experience.

January 2021 Festivities

In 2022, the MM management decided upon a breakfast, hot chocolate, custard, spirit week dress up days, a lunch meeting, and chair massages as our appreciation tools over the course of a month. Some of these are standbys that MM employees have come to rely upon to help tame the stress of year-end. And sometimes we get a little crazy and mix things up. Our accountants love that!

Staff Appreciations:

You may not need a whole month of moral boosting mojo, so another great way to show your appreciation is to capitalize on national holidays or industry specific days. For us, that might mean decorating the space of your team for one of their National recognition weeks (Finance and Accounting Week, Payroll Week, CSR Week).

Or maybe just giving a little love on an Appreciation Day- like Admin Pro day. Don’t forget about your Volunteers and Pastors – they have specific days already scheduled on the calendar, too!

Other Ways to Appreciate Your People:

Another easy one is a birthday recognition. (Have we already mentioned lunch?) Or a fun shout out on social media, a bulletin board, or newsletter. Gift or not, decorate or not, showing you care about the day they came into this world is the key here.

While we are on the subject of coming into the world, what about when your people come into YOUR world. Work Anniversaries are the easiest time to celebrate. So much so we almost didn’t put it in here, but we didn’t want you to think we forgot.

MM Shoutout

Miller Management is incredibly grateful to each employee on our staff. It takes an entire village to pull off what our team does each day, and wouldn’t work without each person completing their part. Our Couriers to pick up client work, our Client Services Team to enter data, our Payroll Team to oversee everyone gets their money, and our Accountants to produce their reports.

And to all our staff in keeping up with laws and industry specific changes the IRS likes to through our way. Not to mention the fraud-prevention and best practices our experts bring with each data entry. We think you guys are the best!
