Miller Management has our own Vimeo channel with some video highlights from our training classes, satire videos, and more. The one video we want to highlight right now is a satirical office favorite.

While this video is made to exaggerate the problems of some ministries, we realize this might not be that far off for some. We encourage you to keep reading to find your next steps.

Before we get to that, now is a great time to introduce our Fraud Prevention Week with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; coming next week. Stay tuned to our blog and social media accounts for more information on this special week.

Fraud Prevention Week

How NOT to Conduct Church Business

Now on to the video. Will they discuss Budgets? Backup documentation? No, none of that is required here. It’s all pre-signed checks and last month’s bank statement.

Could that potentially lead to any problems?

The Bad News

Of course this scenario is problematic. Sounds like this church is in need of some Training from Miller Management. Or at the very least, to read our post about Counting Tips. They could have also benefited from having proper Ministry Descriptions in place before hiring staff or volunteers.

More likely, this fictional church is in the Difficult Conversations, Navigating Conflict, or Personality Styles realm. This Pastor has some work ahead of him, that is clear.

The Good News

The good news is that all is not lost for this church – or yours, if you find yourself in a similar situation. The Miller Management team has the experience to provide training or an Administrative Audit to help you locate problem areas and provide actionable next steps.

The Next Videos

Another video in the satirical line has to do with the dangers of not implementing Internal Controls into the offering counting. Stay tuned for a future post regarding this important topic.
