The Not So January Blues
January felt a little off to me this year. The stress of too many tasks was still there. The tension in my shoulders was still there. But there was decidedly no dread going into each day. I’m not sure if it was the more mild weather this January seemed to be than in years past. (Definitely helped.) Or if our team of people were even more fun and helpful this year. (Also helped.)
Or maybe, it’s because our emphasis was changed. Because the answer wasn’t Jesus take the wheel, because I can’t anymore. It was how do we intentionally glorify you this day with our work. Before the chaos ensues and tries to overwhelm.
How do we foster community, prepare events, invite others, do our daily tasks, with intention. Encouraging the new guy on our team. Asking the client how we could pray for them this week. Listening when your co-worker shared news about their weekend.
For January 2026, our team incorporated Chapel & Chick-fil-A, Legos & a Candy buffet, Cereal Snack Attack, and an all staff Lunch. We’ve said it before and we will say it again: food speaks to our people. 🙂 So do other little touches sprinkled throughout our most busy/stressful month of the year … January.

Instead of having a terrible, horrible, very bad day {read: month} there was a team of elves at work to sprinkle joy throughout the offices. And even though I am a joy sprinkler myself, I can confidently say it was a success.
Plus, our people are so very thoughtful, that they also go above and beyond and provide treats for other departments, bring in homemade desserts when there are extras, pray for each other, or whip up a crockpot of soup on a cold and dreary day. Plus, you might see us having a friendly competition of fantasy football. Our people are just the best.

So, when you are in the thick of year-end, know that we are also. We’ve got your back. We will commensurate with you. Or share in your wins of the previous year. It’s not all doom and gloom around here! And we will walk excitedly into the new year with you. Watching and waiting to see what God has in store for you, and how we can partner with you in the year ahead. You’ve got this.
