Fast and Pray for Leaders
October is a great time to appreciate those people in our lives that lead us well. Our bosses, our Pastors, our mentors, etc. While these national holidays this month are a nice reminder, we also want to make sure this is something we do all throughout the year.
So if it’s already mid-October {yikes} and you had the best intentions to start on October 1st, don’t worry, you’re not behind. The Lord wants you in communion with him each day, no matter the day. Yep, that’s a pep talk to myself as well. 🙂

Pray
This month, we are lifting up our pastor clients in prayer each week. If you are reading this and say a prayer right now for those people in your life, awesome. And if that’s the only time you remember all month, okay. The Lord used that prayer, friend.
Fast
If however, that is already a part of your regular rhythm, amazing! Have you considered adding the next step? If you are feeling so led, what might happen if a group of people intentionally fasted and prayed for their pastor this month? Could be a specific day and time this month, could be one time each week, or however you feel the Spirit leading you.
Again, if October doesn’t fit your timeline, how about November. Or any month, really.

All Leaders
This month (and next with Thanksgiving coming up) is a great reminder to remember all the people in your life who’ve made an impact. Your mentors, friends, co-workers, local government, schools, etc. It’s always a nice day for an extra dose of prayer or an encouraging note.
Just Pray
While we hope praying for your pastor, boss, and country leaders all year is already something that is happening, if that has fallen off the priority list, we’d encourage you to add that back in each day this month and see what happens.
There are many great prayers available to you if you don’t have the right words at this time. Scripture, the Book of Common Prayer, and other online resources can be a wealth of information. (Or you call fall down the rabbit hole of prayer binder on YouTube.) But don’t forget to say what is on your heart as well, you don’t need to have the “perfect words.”
