WFH : Virtual Miller Style
During this pretty consistently virtual time, we want to share a few of the behind the scenes looks at how our staff is functioning, albeit, not how many of us could have imagined. Hopefully one day we can all look back on this time with fondness, and not still want to pull our hair out when we remember we were stuck at home with our kids and/or roommates. 🙂
Video Conferencing
So, let’s just get right into it. Zoom, Go to Meeting, Microsoft Teams calls, whatever your source of video conferencing, we are doing it. And accomplishing it well. Our team meetings have continued and we’ve been able to meet with clients in this avenue.
Some of the hindrances could have been internet and software; but for the most part, MM was totally prepared for this sort of thing. (whew!) Big shout-out to our IT & Facilities team! They helped accomplish a completely digital & virtual environment very quickly.
WFH Spaces
We definitely got to see more of our co-workers space than we ever had before. Like the rest of the world. Even though our team has been known to have baby showers and Christmas gatherings inside our homes, this was still a side we hadn’t seen before: their virtual offices.
Virtual Chapels
Miller Management doesn’t go long without having a corporate gathering. While we were used to including our branch office via video conference already, this still presented new challenges. And maybe some could argue, a more equal environment. Amiright, #mmsouth? 🙂
Virtual Lunches
We normally have monthly lunches altogether to celebrate the birthday people of that particular month. One month during COVID-19, we had a show and tell version where we could show off our houses, grand-kids, graduates, and (of course) our pets!
Client Impact
One of our main focuses during this pandemic is on the impact these shelter-in-place orders have on our clients. Luckily, Miller Management was quickly able to transition to a completely digital environment with relative ease.
