Respect: Core Value #4

After our January Chapel, we decided to run a series on our core values because it may not be something our clients see all that much. But even if you don’t see it written out, our hope is that you still get the overall experience; even when you might not put the same label on it that we did. And that’s okay.
So, let’s get started. If you missed Core Value #1, you may want to start here. That way you can find out our values are clients first, excellence, and flexibility. Now, on to #4.
Core Value #4
RESPECT : We will treat team members with respect and place other’s needs before our own.
- Customers first
- Team members second
- We are third
Just as your organization shows respect to everyone who walks through your doors, our team has a similar motto. You may never walk through our physical doors, but you do get invited into our space. Through our phone and email conversations; or through your bank account information and your donor information.
First: Customers
Our goal is not only to respect you as a person when answering your financial and payroll questions, but also to respect the privacy of the information we have access to.
On the other side of the same coin, our mission is to help you further your mission. To partner with you to advance your administrative needs. How you see your finances impacts the decisions you make; making you the first priority of need.
Second: Team Members
Our team members need our processing information in an organized and timely manner to be able to do their job. Which ultimately goes back to customer reports and timing. So that’s why team members are second.
Third: Ourselves
Lastly, our needs have to be third. We are a cohesive unit at MM, with different departments. But we are interconnected, so when one part suffers, we all suffer. Which is why we don’t want to create a reason for part of the process to suffer. Ultimately going back to number one, our clients, and getting you timely information.
In all cases, we don’t know the story of how someone’s life outside of work is going, or what kind of burdens they are carrying on that particular day. We want to be able to find the balance of being in community with each other and lifting up each others burdens, but also getting to partner with you to provide accounting and payroll services. Ultimately, it’s following Jesus’ example of treating others with respect in every opportunity.
And because we couldn’t help ourselves, we will leave you with the song: Respect, by Aretha Franklin.
Stay tuned for Core Value #5, coming next month.
