MMS Building Updates
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
Here at MMS, it’s time for change. A new building, to be specific. MMS has been in its current Kansas City location for 10 years, and I can tell you, as an employee, that people here are proud of the building and of the business and how much it has grown. But the building is at its bursting point – it is to the point where we cannot continue to improve our service to our clients due to lack of space.
I am writing to you from what used to be the break room, but has now become the Intern office. In the three years I have worked here, I’ve had my desk moved several times, as more people were hired and the business expanded. This summer, we ran out of room, and employees had to say goodbye to their lunch space. The problem is that a community breakroom is an important part of the culture here – a culture that helps make us a team, and a culture that helps us better serve our clients. This intern office/previous breakroom, now fondly referred to as “Internland” by some, is just one example of how we have outgrown this building.
Another example is the parking lot. It’s packed during most work days. Coming from someone who is not a particularly skilled parker, it can be a little scary to get in and out of.
The changes for clients will be minimal – you probably won’t notice a difference. It is very close to our current location, so bag times will not be affected. If you have any questions or concerns, contact us and we would be happy to address them.
The new building is a big step, but we believe it is a step in the right direction.
Check back here for weekly updates on the progress of the building, and find us on Twitter and Facebook for helpful tips and updates on our staff and services.
