Game Plan for Life
Each month the MM staff gather for a time of worship and a message. We call them our monthly Chapel times, and we’ve been having them since 2017. We invite area pastors and worship leaders into our space and they speak truth into us to start our month off right. This year, we started sharing a little bit about them on our blog.
With football starting up, what an appropriate time to focus on successful teams. According to our August speaker, there are five principles to live by – if you want to be a part of a successful team. His inspiration came from James 4:7-12.
Successful Teams
- Surrender to the coach’s authority
- vs. 7: submit to God
- he has the best interest of the team in mind
- Take opposition seriously
- vs. 7: resist the devil
- study game film and put on the spiritual equipment
- Draw near to God with Confidence
- vs. 8: draw near to God
- huddle often – after every play
- we have access to the thrown of grace
- Get into shape, spiritually
- vs. 8: cleanse your hands & purify your hearts
- live a disciplined life
- Work together as a team
- vs. 11: don’t slander
- build each other up, and forgive each other
God wants us on his team. If you aren’t already on the “winning team” let us know. He is still recruiting.
