Best People: Core Value #6
After our January Chapel, we decided to run a series on our core values because it may not be something our clients see all that much. But even if you don’t see it written out, our hope is that you still get the overall experience; even when you might not put the same label on it that we did. And that’s okay.
So, let’s get started. If this is the first post you’ve seen, you may want to start at the beginning. That way you can find out our values are clients first, excellence, flexibility, respect, and servant heart. Now, on to #6.
Core Value #6
We will seek to recruit and retain staff:
- Who are highly skilled and diligent workers
- Who are continually developing greater skills through experience and education
- Who work with and communicate well with people
- Who maintain the highest biblical standards for ethics and morals, inside and outside of work
You know this is an important value for our company when we set aside time for professional development (a few times a year) for the whole staff. And encourage staff to take part in other trainings throughout the year in their specific fields. We also make space for spiritual development each week through prayer times and Chapels.
Best People
We have the best people. But they don’t even know it, because they are always looking towards the next thing. The next problem to solve. Another certificate to complete. The next course to conquer.
All while explaining with patience and to a level of understanding for their clients. Who pick up the phone or schedule an in person meeting when necessary. Who offer training for those lacking skills in a certain area. Or hold your hand through best practices of a process.
Don’t take our word for it
And I’m not just quoting pleasantries, those are snippets from actual quotes we’ve gotten. It’s easy for our leadership team to gush about our staff. Or our co-workers to say kind and encouraging things to each other. It’s another thing entirely for clients to reach out and show their appreciation.
