Perseverance: our word of the year

Our February chapel speaker was our very own President of MM. So, we got a little taste of some things to come in the upcoming year. Including the theme for our year ahead. MM word of the year: Perseverance.

Maybe not the most “fun” word, but a necessity for our year ahead. We could probably say that for each year, but this year going into it, we already know we have some big plans coming. {Stay tuned for some exciting announcements later.} And our Pres. reminded us, we are going to need persistency. We need to stay on track of doing the good work, and not grow weary while it’s all happening.

It’s always fun to take a few moments to brag on our clients in the good work they are doing. So that’s just what we did. A few mentioned at this gathering include, providing resources like shelter, food, and help for those experiencing homelessness. Organizations with a sole mission to stop human trafficking in our area. Church plants revitalizing older churches. And even smaller scale actions of one particular church paying off the student lunch debt for their community school.

Our team likes sharing in these wins with our clients, and we appreciate the small role we play. Keeping best practices in finances, so as to avoid fraud in any of these ministries. Fraud can be so catastrophic to an organization trying to help others. Think of what they could have done?

Another small way we assist in these ministries is through the personal value we add. The “why” behind the standard, the accountability to keep expecting best practices. The reminder that we are all trying to be good stewards of what we’ve been given. And the perseverance to keep fighting the good fight.
