Who Are You?
Each month the MM staff gather for a time of worship and a message. We call them our monthly Chapel times, and we’ve been having them since 2017. We invite area pastors and worship leaders into our space and they speak truth into us to start our month off right. This year, we started sharing a little bit about them on our blog.
Our June Chapel centered around the passage from 1 Peter 2:9-10. Our speaker asked the question, “Who are you in Christ?”
Lucky for us, this passage clearly lays it out for us. In Christ, we are:
- God’s Chosen People
- A Royal Priesthood
- A Holy Nation
- God’s Own Possession
- Called out of Darkness {into his light!}
Our speaker also pointed out how these 5 truths are plural and together. Not as individuals, but as a group of believers. All y’all.
So, the next time you are feeling down, we’d encourage you to pick one of these five statements to speak into yourself, your team, or your community. Don’t forget what being chosen, God’s own, and called out of darkness (read: sin) means.
We hope this reminder of Who You Are speaks a little truth in you today.
