Digital Options: File Exchange vs. NetClient CS vs. Accounting CS
Our first post on the Payroll is for Everyone series was last month, where we did a deep dive into submitting your Payroll. Not only showing that you can easily accomplish this task, but since we are dealing with sensitive payroll information, it is the best practices way to submit your information.
Today, we are going to broaden the scope and talk more about different digital options. Here are a few questions surrounding the differences and which one(s) would best support your organization. We are presenting a brief overview of each of these services in this post.
File Exchange
The File Exchange is a secure way to share files between MM and our clients. This is only meant to be a holding place for documents for a short period of time. Once the item has been processed or downloaded to the appropriate location, it should be deleted off File Exchange by the user who received the information. Once a file hits 30 days, it will be deleted off this space by MM.
All clients have access to this shared (between Miller Management and the client only) web based portal.
NetClient CS
While the File Exchange is where you upload your documents, NetClient CS is where you submit your payroll. Learn more about Net Client CS in our submitting payroll post. You will utilize the same log-in method and credentials from the File Exchange to access NetClient CS.
Under the Administrative tab of NetClient CS, you can view W-2s, pull paystubs, and other payroll reports. This is also where we want you to upload your PANs, or other payroll related documents. You can make those changes/updates as soon as you know about them and your MM payroll rep will be sent an email when there is a new item to view. The earlier you can make a payroll change, the better for our team, and the accuracy of your payroll.
Accounting CS
Online Access is a paid add-on service from Miller Management that allows for 24/7 access to your accounting records in our software, Accounting CS. Once you have logged in to the software, the ACS dashboard opens on your home screen (this is different than the MM Dashboard product.) Some of the data you can view are your transactions, bank accounts, vendors, benefits, and employee payroll records. Another feature is to be able to pull and print different accounting and payroll reports.
Other Adjacent Online Access Resources
Here are some of the other items mentioned earlier in this article and their definitions.
Dashboard Product: A dashboard email is sent to our Level 2 and above clients every Friday. You receive updates on the financial health of your organization. Information regarding cash available, trends, and budget information is provided. A customized dashboard is now available for an extra fee.
Online Access: Our Online Access service allows 24/7 read-only access for two users. View and print your accounting, payroll information, accounts payable information, and donor contribution records (if applicable) data and reports.
Do any of these items sound like something you’d like to add-on to your current Miller Management package? If so, contact your MM Representative or Jennifer Ross, Senior Vice President.
