The Blessing of Generosity

Each month the MM staff gather for a time of worship and a message. We call them our monthly Chapel times, and we’ve been having them since 2017. We invite area pastors and worship leaders into our space and they speak truth into us to start our month off right. This year, we started sharing a little bit about them on our blog.

Our May Chapel was all about living generously from Acts 2, the ultimate example.

The top 3 key take-aways, with sub-points, have been provided for your reflection today:

  1. Why be Generous?
    • Model His Character
    • Obstacles of generosity:
      • control of our wallet
      • money mismanagement
      • not living within our means
      • not having an emergency fund
      • too much debt
      • creating and sticking to a budget
      • keeping up with the Jones’
  2. What Happens When we are Generous?
    • Practical ways to show generosity:
      • share your resources
      • share your time & talents
      • practice hospitality
      • speak encouragement to others
      • forgive freely
  3. How is God Asking You to be Generous Today?

God blesses the giver, and he blesses his kingdom and his church by your giving as well. Giving generously is a spiritual discipline, and one some of us may need to adjust our lens a bit. God is the ultimate example of generosity and mercy. And thanks be to God we don’t get what we deserve. Amiright?!
