4th Annual Company Picnic

Category: Miller Moments

Posted by

The weather was brilliant. The landscape beautiful. The food delicious. And the activities were a hit. All the trappings of a successful company event.

But.

We had to see our work friends on the weekend.🙄 There was a photographer taking pictures.📷 The budget flew out the window.💰 And someone created a themed playlist.🎧 All the makings of a horrific event!

And.

There were screaming children. (“Faster!”) And a few spots of Pony poop to walk around. (Gross.) And one could get lost in the tall grass maze. (With spotty cell service.) Horrific I tell you.

Now.

A week later, I’ve had time to reflect on what went wrong. And I think I know how to not have such a scary event next year.

  1. No more ponies. Cute babes riding adorable animals? How dangerous.
  2. A Food Truck? And snacks? How many times do people need to eat?
  3. Scratch the photographer. She just took adorable family photos and caught photo proof of fun having. Who needs her?
  4. Inviting co-worker’s families to come? Seriously, I see you every week, do I really need to meet the family just yet? Nah.
  5. And finally, no hayrides, pumpkin launchers, or smore’s over the firepit. Geez, talk about liabilities!

And that’s how we had the scariest MM Company Picnic of all. And why there won’t be another one.

Wait. What’s that? Everyone liked the event? And I should really get back to work and stop looking at those cute family photos? Well folks, looks like I’ve been sent to the far corner of the top floor (think Rapunzel) to “think about things.” If you think about me, send coffee; this could be awhile.

About the Author:

Meagan spent the better part of her last twelve years hanging around the MM building. We aren’t really sure what she does there, but she keeps saying she is “really busy.” She has a strange sense of humor and hopes to one day be a part of an inside joke. But don’t worry, she doesn’t do your Payroll.
