2018 Company Picnic
Company Picnic – 2018
Miller Management’s 2nd Annual Company Picnic happened this summer, and we wanted to share a few highlights. Since we have seen a little snow in Kansas City, we thought this would be a good time to look back at warmer days. You may be eager to know that our data-entry loving staff do get out and enjoy the sunshine…occasionally. 🙂
In all seriousness, we do want to say a big THANK YOU to our owners for hosting such an incredible event this year! And a special thanks to all the employees who helped with decorations, food, clean-up, and set-up! We try to make a conscious effort to reward staff members for all their hard work, and this year, that transpired through a luau!
Hawaiian Shirts:
Maybe it was because of the Luau Theme or maybe it’s just a tribute to the number one Hawaiian shirt fan – our CEO! But there sure was a sea of Hawaiian inspired attire at this year’s company picnic.
Baby Pool & Bubbles:
Our office had about a 10 year gap since they had seen a little one, but lately, there seems to be more and more each year… Sounds like a great way to expand our intern program. 🙂
Hawaiian Themed House:
The organizers and decorators of this event truly went all out for our luau – tents with grass skirts, lais for all to wear, there was even a roast – just for marshmallows. (No pigs – or people – were harmed during the event.)
Door Prizes & Attire Prizes:
Of course there were prizes to encourage people to participate, and as you can see, we had some great participators! The winners of the “best dressed” category received a golden pineapple trophy and the winner of the “not as best dressed” category won a SPAM can trophy.
Boat Rides:
Whether for leisure or for tubing, these boat rides had it all! Our fearless Captain even braved the waters…by driving the boat.
Snow Cones!:
There was an authentic snow cone machine with plenty of flavoring options. Such a yummy treat on a pretty hot day!
Friendly Competitions:
Each year there is quite a heated game of ping-pong at the company picnic, and this year was no exception. Unfortunately the content was not suitable for children, so we declined in sharing it today. 😉 And I’m told there is still a recount going on for the correct scoring.

Staff Appreciation:
The most important reason we want to have these events is to foster a culture of unity. And it gives our employees some time away from the office to sit back and relax and get to know one another outside of the daily grind. It’s also a great time to meet families of co-workers.
Now, the countdown to next summer begins… 204, 203, 202, 201, 200 …
